City Cares is the outreach ministry of City Church Chicago. We believe ministry is seeing a need and meeting it, feeling a hurt, and healing it. City Cares works through our global and local partners to connect our church community with opportunities to serve our city and our world.
LOCALLY
We love to serve our city and partner with local organizations to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Here’s some of our local partners and outreach teams:
Justice Team - ministering God’s Word at Cook County Jail and Cook County Juvenile Center
Street Team - ministering to our friends on the street who are experiencing homelessness
Alderman Burnett - we give school supplies and backpacks to children in the 27th Ward.
Otis Elementary - we give Christmas gifts to all students through our annual Christmas List project
GLOBALLY
We also love to serve the nations through our global partners by short-term mission trips, advocacy, and crisis relief. Here’s some of our global partners:
The A21 Campaign - supporting through financial donations and annual Walk for Freedom to raise awareness
Empower International - hosting short-term missions trip and financial support through our annual Christmas List project
Arimborgo Ministries - sending missionaries on short-term mission trips and financial support

Our Impact
From the beginning, City Church has been passionate about partnering with God’s mission in our city. This mission is to see healing in Chicago as we go out into our community and share the good news of Jesus, loving and serving those we encounter. We partner with local organizations that are bringing wholeness, reconciliation, and meeting needs in Chicago. City Church is committed to leading change throughout the world. We have a global perspective, recognizing our responsibility to steward the privileges that God has blessed us with and share generously with those in need around the world.
City Church Chicago served through our local and global ministry partners, generously donating 4,388 volunteer hours. Through our weekly Grocery Giveaway program, we were able to feed 143,400 individuals. Chicago experienced God's love in a new way; anyone and everyone came freely—no questions, truly a free gift. We are confident that every box of groceries sowed a seed of God's generous, life-changing love into people's lives across our city.
