Day 11: Favor & Deliverance for Families
“Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me…” ESTHER 4:16 NKJV
Throughout the Bible, as God’s people pray and fast for specific needs, He always moves on their behalf. God’s Word is clear. He shows Himself faithful to deliver, heal, and save in response to the prayers of His people.
Time and time again, there is evidence of the Biblical truth: “The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. (James 5:16)
Queen Esther called her fellow Jews to fast for three days before she went before the king to appeal to him to save the Jewish people. Though the act of going before the king uninvited was against the law and punishable by death, the king welcomed her: “As soon as the king saw Queen Esther standing in the courtyard, she gained favor with him.” (Esther 5:2)
Esther called on her people to fast and pray, and as a result, her life and the lives of her family and fellow Jews were spared. Esther’s boldness reminds us that praying and fasting can save families, deliver people, and change the course of history.
As we fast, let’s pray and believe wholeheartedly that God will deliver and favor us and our loved ones.
On your 11th day of fasting, remember:
● Your prayers are powerful and effective.
● If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:21)
● Praying for your family can have a generational impact.
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for how He is at work in your family, and ask Him for divine direction for your family. Pray for God to move mightily in families and bring renewal, reconciliation, hope, and healing.
Reflection Question: What’s the seemingly impossible thing in your family that you are believing for?
