Day 20: Good Things

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:11 NKJV

As we get closer to the end of our fast, we are reminded that God wants to bless us beyond our wildest imaginations. We can take God’s word precisely as stated without overcomplicating its meaning. God does want to and will give good things to those who ask Him. If we’re ever in doubt, we can remember the price that Jesus paid to reconcile us with our Heavenly Father.

God has gone above and beyond to ensure that we can have everything that pertains to life and godliness. He gave everything to make this possible, and it is up to us not to place any limitations on a limitless God.

God will never hold back good things from us. He knows more than we do. Sometimes, when we think He’s ignoring our request, it may be that He’s protecting us. He is a good father who only gives good things to His children.

We can ask through faith in Jesus, knowing God freely gives us all things.

On your 20th day of fasting, remember:

●   If it’s a promise in God’s word, it’s God’s will.

●   God will freely give you good things.

●   God always does His part; as a part of God’s plan, there are times for us to play our part as well.

Prayer Focus:

Thank God for being such a loving father who gives to us unconditionally, without withholding. Ask for a spirit of faith that never waivers when things don’t go according to our plans.

Reflection Question: How can you stay in faith even when it seems like there are delayed answers?
