Day 6: Walking With God
“...He walked with Me in peace and equity, And turned many away from iniquity.” MALACHI 2:6 NKJV
Throughout God’s word, we see that God values relationships. A close relationship with God is the foundation for us to experience God’s blessing, peace, provision, gifts, and direction. However, a relationship with God is much more than meeting our needs and fulfilling our desires. He is the only one who can make us feel known and loved. But often, we try to meet our needs in other ways.
We look to people like our friends, spouse, kids, or professional network to decrease our loneliness and fill inner voids. We look to everyday things to bring us comfort and convenience. We even look to religion and rules to make us feel like high achievers. Nevertheless, only God satisfies the deepest longings in our hearts.
Walking with God daily and developing a personal and authentic relationship with Him is the most important thing we can do on earth. A relationship with our Heavenly Father matters most and is what we are called to cultivate.
On your sixth day of fasting, remember:
● God wants a relationship with you.
● Nothing on earth can satisfy your heart’s deepest longings except for God.
● Your relationship with God is the foundation of your life.
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for wanting and pursuing a relationship with you. Thank your Heavenly Father for desiring to walk with you daily, no matter the circumstance. Ask God to reveal how He wants you to do to develop a more intimate relationship with Him.
Reflection Question: What three things can you start doing to cultivate a deeper relationship with God?
